Convert a DST stitch preview to PNG
Turn an existing DST embroidery file into a PNG reference image. Open your DST, review its stitches, then choose Save preview PNG. DST has no original colour palette: the preview uses assigned colours. This does not digitise a PNG into stitches.

Drag to pan when zoomed. Zoom changes the preview only.
Large design: the on-screen preview and PNG use simplified stitch paths. The converted machine file keeps the full stitch data.
Thread order
Embroidery area check
This check does not rotate or resize your file. Comparison of stitch bounds only. Machine limits, positioning and movement commands can still prevent sewing. Confirm the usable embroidery area in your manual.
PNG and the printed sheet are visual references, not machine files or full-size sewing templates. Preview shows the source file.

Common questions
Can I open embroidery files on a phone or Mac?
Use a current browser, choose a downloaded stitch file from Files or Downloads, then review the preview. No desktop app is required. An internet connection is needed because files are uploaded for processing.
Can I see the original colours of a DST file?
A standard DST file does not include a thread palette. Assigned colours help separate the stitching blocks, but you need the designer’s colour sheet for the intended thread colours.
Does a PNG replace my embroidery file?
No. PNG is a picture for reference or sharing. Keep the PES, DST, JEF or other machine file for sewing. A stitch preview is not a photograph or a guarantee of the sewn result.
Why is the file still missing on my machine?
A valid preview only shows that HoopFile can read stitches. Your machine may require another file version, a smaller embroidery area, fewer stitches, or a specific USB folder. Check the manual for your exact model.
